Hi, my name is Brandon Voelker. I was born and raised in Ellsworth, WI and I
am a freshman her and the University of Wisconsin Superior. I am a current
member of the Universities Baseball Team. I am majoring in marketing and
management. I love to hunt and fish in my free time. I have one sibling, his

Overview
This course contributes to your “core
curriculum” at UW-S by focusing on the writing process, critical
reading, and practice in expository writing, mainly essays.
All first-year writing courses at UW-S require four major projects plus other
brief or informal writings, critical reading, and a focus on revision with peer
review and formative teacher response.
In completing this course successfully, you will
become more confident in using a number of writing strategies; you’ll be able to
respond effectively to the writing of others; you’ll recognize different genres
and purposes and be able to adapt to different audiences or
demands. Generally speaking, at the end of this class, you’ll be better
prepared to face many writing tasks.
